An award-winning percussionist who, in a short period of time, became one of the leaders of France's new jazz scene thanks to her distinct style and sound, an original composer in constant dialogue with diverse musical genres, and a charismatic and creative leader of the ensemble that performs at renowned festivals around the world.
Paceo soared to recognition in 2009, when winning the title The discovery of the year, in the European Django D'or Prix competition by the French Academy du Jazz . Two years later, her debut album "Triphase" won the French equivalent of the Grammy Awards (Victoire De la Musique).
But, as the first female drummer to graduate from the jazz department of Paris' National Conservatoire, Anne Paceo has never stopped smashing glass ceilings.
She began her musical career at the age of 19 and has since accompanied legends such as pianist Alain Jean-Marie, accordionist Marcel Azzola, pianist and composer Michel Legrand, bassist Charlie Haden, saxophonist Archie Shepp, Jazz fusion pioneer John McLaughlin, soul jazz organist and singer Rhoda Scott , guitarist Christian Escoudé, keyboardist Cheick Tidiane Seck, and singers China Moses, Melissa Laveaux, and many others.
As an ensemble leader, her career took off quickly, with seven successful albums and two EPs, as well as performances on prestigious stages stretching from the Zenith in Paris to the Blue Note in Tokyo.
Her most recent acoustic album, S.H.A.M.A.N.E.S., released in 2022 and inspired by shamanic rituals and meditative rhythms, tops the French jazz album sales chart.
She was named a Knight of the Order of the Arts last year, the highest honor bestowed on artists for their contributions to French culture.
Paceo's first visit to Israel is with Circles, a poetic and melodic album that touches on nature's cycles and the never-ending motion of time.
It's a dream-like musical journey that defies categorization and moves you to new places, with influences ranging from electro jazz to sacred poetry, a vortex of free spirit, poetics, and electrifying energy. Paceo creates a harmonious world on stage through a unique alchemy, a dialogue between equals, and musicians who make the heart race.
“Jazz is a way of expression, it’s about freedom, and play with what is in your soul at one moment” Anne Paceo

In a word, yeah.
However, it truly depends on whether your child is a metalhead or more of a geeky type.
Does she jump on the bed until midnight or fall asleep at seven o'clock?
since all of this is bewildering- we agreed on a unique performance for kids this year!
Check it out on Saturday morning.
